The verse distinguishes certain higher beings from the ordinary divine economy of ritual: they do not depend on offerings or nectar, and their existence is luminous and not limited by a fixed physical form—suggesting a subtler mode of being beyond ritual sustenance and corporeal constraints.
A divine messenger explains the nature of a class of celestial beings, clarifying that unlike the gods who are sustained through sacrificial oblations and associated with nectar, these beings are self-sustained, radiant, and not bound to a definite embodied shape.
