धन्यो<स्म्यनुगृहीतो5स्मि यस्य मे त्वं महाबल: । हितेषु वर्तसे नित्यं सफलं जन्म चाद्य मे,“वीर! मैं धन्य हूँ, तुम्हारे अनुग्रहका पात्र हूँ; क्योंकि तुम-जैसे महाबली सुहृद् सदा मेरे हितसाधनमें लगे रहते हैं। आज मेरा जन्म सफल हो गया
dhanyo 'smy anugṛhīto 'smi yasya me tvaṃ mahābalaḥ | hiteṣu vartase nityaṃ saphalaṃ janma cādya me ||
Wika ni Duryodhana: “O mandirigma, mapalad ako; pinagpala ako—sapagkat ikaw, na napakalakas, ay laging kumikilos para sa aking kapakanan. Ngayon, naging ganap ang saysay ng aking kapanganakan.”
कर्ण उवाच
The verse highlights gratitude and the ethical value of a well-wishing ally: one’s life becomes ‘fruitful’ when supported by a steadfast friend who consistently acts for one’s welfare.
Karna addresses a powerful companion with reverence, acknowledging the other’s constant concern for his benefit and declaring that such support makes him feel blessed and his life validated.
