Vyāsa’s Consolation to Yudhiṣṭhira: Tapas, Kāla, and the Difficulty of Dāna (दान-तपस्-विवेकः)
अभेद्यानि ततः सर्वे समनहान्त भारत | जाम्बूनदविचित्राणि कवचानि महारथा:,भारत! तदनन्तर उन समस्त महारथियोंने जाम्बूनद नामक सुवर्णसे विभूषित एवं विचित्र शोभा धारण करनेवाले अभेद्य कवच धारण किये
Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
abhedyāni tataḥ sarve samanahānta bhārata |
jāmbūnadavicitrāṇi kavacāni mahārathāḥ ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: O Bhārata! Pagkaraan nito, ang lahat ng dakilang mandirigmang nakasakay sa karwahe ay ganap na nagsandata, at nagsuot ng mga baluting di-mabibiyak—marikit at sari-saring anyo, pinalamutian ng ginto ng Jāmbūnada. Ipinakikita ng tagpong ito ang maingat at disiplinadong paghahanda sa nalalapit na labanan, kung saan ang ningning sa labas ay kaagapay ng mabigat na pasya ng digmaan.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined readiness and the gravity of entering conflict: warriors do not rush blindly but arm themselves with care, reflecting the kṣatriya ideal of preparedness and responsibility in warfare.
After the preceding developments, the assembled great warriors equip themselves, putting on ornate, gold-adorned, supposedly impenetrable armors as they prepare for the next phase of action.
