Truth (satya) is presented as a moral ground for seeking aid: after hearing a truthful clarification, the listener is ethically urged (arhasi) to offer protection. The verse contrasts unreliable rumor (kila… kenāpi udāhṛtam) with a direct commitment to truth.
Mārkaṇḍeya reports that a claim has been circulated that the addressed person was born from ‘our womb.’ He denies the claim, asks the listener to accept the truthful account, and then appeals for rescue from an immediate danger.
