The verse highlights dhārmic conduct expressed through respectful greeting (abhivāda) and affectionate honor within family and allies. Ethical strength is shown not only in deeds but also in courteous, loving recognition of virtue and relationship.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that Śrī Kṛṣṇa respectfully salutes Yudhiṣṭhira. In response, Yudhiṣṭhira and Bhīma warmly honor Kṛṣṇa by touching/smelling his head, a traditional gesture of affection and esteem.
