धुन्धुमार इति ख्यातो नाम्नाप्रतिरथो5भवत् | उस समय महामना राजा कुवलाश्व धुन्धुको मारनेके कारण “धुन्धुमार” नामसे विख्यात हो गये। उनका सामना करनेवाला वीर कोई नहीं रह गया था
Dhundhumāra iti khyāto nāmnāpratiratho 'bhavat |
Wika ni Mārkaṇḍeya: “Dahil sa pagpatay kay Dhundhu, ang marangal na si Haring Kuvalāśva ay sumikat sa pangalang ‘Dhundhumāra’. Siya’y naging mandirigmang walang kapantay—walang sinumang makatatayo laban sa kanya.”
