Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic care for another’s welfare: inner support through mindful concern (anudhyāna), spiritual discipline (japa), and gentle companionship through uplifting conversation—showing that ethical strength includes consoling and sustaining others in hardship.

Yudhiṣṭhira reassures the addressed person that the group will remain together during forest life, supporting them through prayerful recitation and thoughtful concern, and keeping spirits steady with pleasant stories while they continue their forest sojourn.
