अध्याय १९० — वामदेव-वाम्य-वृत्तान्तः
The Vāmadeva Horses Episode and the Ethics of Promise
मत्तः प्रादुर्भवन्त्येते मामेव प्रविशन्ति च | ये शूद्र मेरे दोनों चरण हैं। मेरी शक्तिसे क्रमश: इनका प्रादुर्भाव हुआ है। ऋग्वेद, यजुर्वेद, सामवेद और अथर्ववेद--ये मुझसे ही प्रकट होते और मुझमें ही लीन हो जाते हैं
mattaḥ prādurbhavanti ete mām eva praviśanti ca |
Wika ng Diyos: “Mula sa akin lamang nagmumula ang mga ito, at sa akin lamang sila muling pumapasok. Sa aking kapangyarihan sila nahahayag nang sunod-sunod, at kapag natapos ang kanilang landas, sila’y nalulusaw at nagbabalik sa akin. Kaya ang mga Veda—Ṛg, Yajus, Sāma, at Atharva—ay nahahayag mula sa akin at sa huli’y sa akin din nagbabalik.”
