सहस्रान्ते नरा: सर्वे प्रायशो5नृतवादिन: । यज्ञप्रतिनिधि: पार्थ दानप्रतिनिधिस्तथा

sahasrānte narāḥ sarve prāyaśo 'nṛtavādinaḥ | yajñapratinidhiḥ pārtha dānapratinidhis tathā ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “Sa pagtatapos ng isang libong taon, halos lahat ng tao’y nagiging tagapagsalita ng kasinungalingan. Sa panahong iyon, O Pārtha, ang paghahandog na yajña ay nagiging pawang kapalit na lamang, at gayundin ang pagkakawanggawa—kapalit na lamang.”
