Adhyāya 168: Arjuna’s counters to māyā-rains and the onset of darkness

स तथ्यं मम तच्छुत्वा ब्राह्मणो राजसत्तम | अपूजयत मां राजन प्रीतिमांश्वाभवन्न्मयि,नृपश्रेष्ठ! ब्राह्मणदेवताने मेरी यथार्थ बातें सुनकर मेरी प्रशंसा की और मुझपर बड़े प्रसन्न हुए
sa tathyaṁ mama tac chrutvā brāhmaṇo rājasattama | apūjayat māṁ rājan prītimāṁś cābhavan mayi ||
Nang marinig niya ang aking mga salitang tapat, O pinakamainam sa mga hari, pinarangalan ako ng Brahmana; at, O Hari, napuno siya ng paglingap at pagmamahal sa akin.
अजुन उवाच
Truthful speech (satya) aligned with dharma generates trust, respect, and affectionate regard from the virtuous; ethical integrity becomes socially and spiritually persuasive.
Arjuna reports that after the Brahmin heard his truthful account, the Brahmin honored him and became warmly disposed toward him, indicating approval of Arjuna’s sincerity and conduct.
