Educational Q&A

The verse foregrounds the ethical gravity of aggression: a powerful ruler mobilizes overwhelming force and threatens a city. It sets up reflection on kṣatriya duty, the protection of communities, and the consequences of unchecked hostility.

Vāyudeva narrates that King Śālva, who commands the Saubha (aerial city/vehicle), marches with a large army rich in infantry and elephants, approaches Dvārakā, and establishes a nearby camp—initiating the assault context.
