Kubera’s Fivefold Nīti and Protection of the Pāṇḍavas (वैश्रवणोपदेशः)
श्रूयते बहुधा भीम सर्वभूतमनोहर: । महागज्जामुदीक्षस्व पुण्यां देवनदीं शुभाम्
śrūyate bahudhā bhīma sarvabhūtamanoharaḥ | mahāgajjāmudīkṣasva puṇyāṃ devanadīṃ śubhām ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “O Bhīma, naririnig at ipinahahayag sa iba’t ibang paraan na ang ilog na ito’y nakalulugod sa puso ng lahat ng nilalang. Masdan mo ang banal at mapalad na ilog ng mga diyos—maningning at pinagpala.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights reverence for sacred places: a holy river is praised as universally pleasing and spiritually meritorious, encouraging attentive, respectful contemplation of what tradition celebrates as auspicious.
Vaiśampāyana addresses Bhīma and draws his attention to a renowned divine river, describing it as holy and auspicious and urging him to look upon it.
