The verse highlights that true auspicious progress is marked by association with sacred places and learned, disciplined people: spiritual merit (puṇya), reverence for Vedic learning, and righteous companionship are presented as protective and elevating forces alongside heroic capability.
The party—together with the brothers and Draupadī—enters the famed Nara-Nārāyaṇa hermitage, described as heavenlike and fragrant; thousands of brāhmaṇas skilled in the Vedas and Vedāṅgas enter as well, emphasizing the hermitage’s sanctity and the scale of the accompanying learned retinue.
