The Slaying of Yavakrīta at Raibhya’s Hermitage

The verse underscores the ethical collapse that follows when desire overrides restraint: secrecy (ekānta) becomes the setting for adharma, and the language of “plunging into sin” highlights the karmic and social consequences of violating dharma.
A woman is taken aside to a secluded place and sexually violated; immediately afterward, the sage Raibhya arrives back at his hermitage, setting up the next turn of the episode.
