The verse teaches that steadfast dharma—especially royal righteousness expressed through generous, sacrificial, and duty-bound conduct—accumulates great merit and is depicted as leading to extraordinary honor in the cosmic hierarchy, even a share in Indra’s seat.
Lomaśa is recounting exemplary kings and their attainments. Here he cites Māndhātṛ as a paradigmatic righteous ruler whose abundant dharma resulted in a remarkable heavenly reward: receiving half of Śakra’s throne-seat in Svarga.
