Bhāgīratha’s Tapas and the Petition to Gaṅgā (गङ्गावतरण-प्रसङ्गः)
त्रिदशांश्षाप्पबाधन्त तथा गन्धर्वराक्षसान् | सर्वाणि चैव भूतानि शूरा: समरशालिन:,समरभूमिमें शोभा पानेवाले वे शूरवीर राजकुमार देवताओं, गन्धर्वों, राक्षसों तथा सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंको कष्ट दिया करते थे
tridaśān śāpabādhanta tathā gandharvarākṣasān | sarvāṇi caiva bhūtāni śūrāḥ samarśālinaḥ ||
Ang mga prinsipeing bayani—na maringal sa larangan ng digmaan—ay napakabangis kaya ginugulo maging ang mga diyos, pati ang mga Gandharva at Rākṣasa; tunay, pinapahirapan nila ang lahat ng uri ng nilalang.
लोगश उवाच
Valor is not automatically virtuous: when power and battlefield glory are not governed by dharma, they become tyranny that harms even the divine and the vulnerable alike, disturbing the moral and cosmic order.
The speaker describes certain royal youths/warriors as extraordinarily formidable—so aggressive that they troubled devas, Gandharvas, Rākṣasas, and in fact all beings—highlighting the scale of their violence and its consequences.
