सगरोपाख्यानम् (Sagara-Upākhyāna): Śiva’s boon and the extraordinary birth of Sagara’s progeny
तच्छुत्वा वचन विप्र: सुराणां शैलमभ्यगात् । सो$भिगम्याब्रवीद् विन्ध्यं सदार: समुपस्थित:,देवताओंकी यह बात सुनकर विप्रवर अगस्त्य अपनी पत्नी लोपामुद्राके साथ विन्ध्यपर्वतके समीप गये और वहाँ उपस्थित हो उससे इस प्रकार बोले--
tac chrutvā vacanaṁ vipraḥ surāṇāṁ śailam abhyagāt | so 'bhigamyābravīd vindhyaṁ sadāraḥ samupasthitaḥ ||
Nang marinig ang mga salita ng mga diyos, ang dakilang pantas na si Agastya ay nagtungo sa bundok. Lumapit siya kay Vindhya at, kasama ang kanyang asawa, tumindig sa harap nito at nagsalita nang ganito.
