Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Dhṛtarāṣṭra in the Assembly

अग्रतो वासुदेवस्य कर्णदुर्योधनावुभौ । वृष्णय: कृतवर्मा चाप्यासन्‌ कृष्णस्य पृष्ठत:,वसुदेवनन्दन श्रीकृष्णके आगे-आगे कर्ण और दुर्योधन थे और उनके पीछे कृतवर्मा तथा अन्य वृष्णिवंशी वीर थे

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

agrato vāsudevasya karṇa-duryodhanāv ubhau |

vṛṣṇayaḥ kṛtavarmā cāpy āsan kṛṣṇasya pṛṣṭhataḥ ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśaṃpāyana: Sa unahan ni Vāsudeva (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) ay naroon kapwa sina Karṇa at Duryodhana; at sa likuran ni Kṛṣṇa ay sina Kṛtavarmā at iba pang mga bayani ng angkang Vṛṣṇi. Ipinakikita ng taludtod kung paanong ang mga dakilang tauhan ng nalalapit na digmaan ay pumapaling sa paligid ni Kṛṣṇa—may nangunguna at may sumusunod—na nagpapahiwatig ng tensiyong moral sa pagitan ng pakikipag-alyansa para sa kapangyarihan at ng wastong paggabay.
