देश: कालस्तथायुक्तो न हि नाहति केशव: । मंस्यत्यधोक्षजो राजन्‌ भयादर्चति मामिति

Transliteration

deśaḥ kālas tathāyukto na hi nāhati keśavaḥ | maṁsyaty adhokṣajo rājan bhayād arcati mām iti ||

Translation

Sinabi ni Duryodhana: “Hindi angkop ang lugar at ang panahon; hindi dahil si Keśava (Kṛṣṇa) ay hindi karapat-dapat. Ngunit tumatanggi ako sa ganitong dahilan—na ang kasalukuyang kalagayan ay hindi nararapat upang igawad sa kanya ang pambihirang parangal. O Hari, iisipin ni Adhokṣaja (Kṛṣṇa), ‘Sinasamba niya ako dahil sa takot sa akin.’”
