शल्य उवाच
The verse highlights vākya-pālana—keeping one’s word. Śalya commits to carry out what has been asked and, beyond that, to do whatever else he can for the other’s welfare, presenting loyalty and reliability as ethical virtues.
Śalya responds to a request or instruction addressed to him affectionately (“tāta”), assuring compliance: he will do exactly what was said to him and will additionally undertake any further action within his capacity that would be pleasing and beneficial to the requester.
