Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 71 — Kṣatra-dharma Counsel, Public Legitimacy, and Mobilization
Prudence in dharmic action: even a righteous envoy should weigh the moral and political climate. When an assembly is dominated by adharma and coercion, entering it can invite danger and obstruction; wise counsel considers both intention and circumstance.
In Udyoga Parva, as war approaches, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Kṛṣṇa and expresses concern about Kṛṣṇa going into the midst of the gathered kings who are under Duryodhana’s influence—an atmosphere likely hostile to fair counsel and peace efforts.
