उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय ५४: दुर्योधनस्य धृतराष्ट्रं प्रति बलप्रशंसन-युक्तः आश्वासनवादः

Duryodhana’s Reassurance and Force-Praise to Dhritarashtra

इस प्रकार श्रीमहाभारत उद्योगपर्वके अन्तर्गत यानसंधिपर्वमें संजयवाक्यविषयक चौवनवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ,अनुज्ञातश्न रामेण मत्समो5डसीति भारत । कुण्डले रुचिरे चास्तां कर्णस्य सहजे शुभे भारत! परशुरामजीने कर्णको (शिक्षा देनेके पश्चात्‌ घर लौटनेकी) आज्ञा देते हुए यह कहा था कि तुम (अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंके ज्ञानमें) मेरे समान हो। इसके सिवा कर्णको जन्मके साथ ही दो सुन्दर और कल्याणकारी कुण्डल प्राप्त हुए थे

anujñātaś ca rāmeṇa matsamo ’sīti bhārata | kuṇḍale rucire cāstāṃ karṇasya sahaje śubhe ||

Sinabi ni Sañjaya: “O Bhārata, matapos turuan si Karṇa, pinahintulutan siyang umalis ni Rāma (Paraśurāma) at sinabi: ‘Kapantay kita (sa kaalaman sa mga sandata).’ Bukod dito, taglay ni Karṇa mula pa sa pagsilang ang dalawang makinang at mapalad na hikaw.”
