Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 50 — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Appraisal of Bhīmasena (भीमसेनभयवर्णनम्)
The verse highlights āryatva (noble conduct) expressed as apaciti—repaying benefits received. It frames loyalty as a moral debt arising from patronage, even when the broader situation is ethically conflicted.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra tells Saṃjaya that the three senior elders—Bhīṣma, Droṇa, and Kṛpa—who have lived under Kuru support will ‘repay’ that support by aligning with the Kaurava side in the impending war.
