उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय ५ (कृष्णनीति: न्यायशम-उपदेशः; विराट-द्रुपदयोः सैन्यसमाह्वानम्)

चालयन्तीव गां देवीं सपर्वतवनामिमाम्‌ । चारों ओरसे उन वीरोंके जो सैनिक आ रहे थे, वे पर्वतों और वनोंसहित इस सारी पृथ्वीको प्रकम्पित-सी कर रहे थे

cālayantīva gāṃ devīṃ saparvatavanām imām |

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “Nang sumulong mula sa lahat ng panig ang mga kawal ng mga bayaning iyon, waring niyayanig nila ang buong daigdig—iginagalang na parang isang diyosa—kasama ang kanyang mga bundok at kagubatan. Ipinakikita ng larawang ito na ang pag-igting tungo sa digmaan ay lumaki hanggang sa guluhin ang kaayusan ng mundo, at ipinahihiwatig ang mabigat na pananagutang etikal ng maramihang karahasan.”
