ततो<ब्रवीत् सागरगा जिह्दां चरसि भाविनि । नैष कामो5नवलद्याड़ि शक््य: प्राप्तुं त्वयाबले
tato 'bravīt sāgaragā jihvāṃ ca rasi bhāvini | naiṣa kāmo 'navaladyāḍi śakyaḥ prāptuṃ tvayābale ||
Pagkaraan ay nagsalita si Rāma: “O ikaw na gumagalaw sa karagatan, o marahan—ang iyong dila’y tunay na pagala-gala at di mapigil. Ngunit ang pagnanasang ito’y hindi matutupad; hindi mo ito maaabot, sapagkat ikaw ay mahina.”
राम उवाच
Desire must be measured against reality and capacity; ethical restraint means recognizing what cannot or should not be pursued and curbing impulsive craving.
Rāma addresses a feminine figure described as ocean-moving, remarking that her tongue roams restlessly and declaring that the particular desire she seeks is unattainable for her due to weakness or lack of capacity.
