शरणागतां महाबाहो कन्यां न त्यक्तुमरहसि । यदि भीष्मो रणे राम समाहूतस्त्वया मृधे,“महाबाहो! यह कन्या शरणमें आयी है; अतः आपको इसका त्याग नहीं करना चाहिये। भृगुनन्दन राम! यदि युद्धमें आपके बुलानेपर भीष्म सामने आकर अपनी पराजय स्वीकार करे अथवा आपकी बात ही मान ले तो इस कन्याका कार्य सिद्ध हो जायगा

Transliteration

śaraṇāgatāṃ mahābāho kanyāṃ na tyaktum arhasi | yadi bhīṣmo raṇe rāma samāhūtas tvayā mṛdhe |

Translation

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “O makapangyarihang bisig, huwag mong talikuran ang dalagang lumapit upang magpasaklolo. O Rāma, inapo ni Bhṛgu—kung sa pag-anyaya mo sa kanya sa digmaan ay humarap si Bhīṣma sa labanan at tanggapin ang pagkatalo, o sumunod sa iyong utos, matutupad ang layon ng dalagang ito.”
