दंशित: पाण्डुरेणाहं कवचेन वपुष्मता
daṁśitaḥ pāṇḍureṇāhaṁ kavacena vapuṣmatā
Wika ni Bhishma: “Ako’y nakahanda at may sandata, nakasuot ng makinang na baluting maputlang kulay, na bumabalot sa aking matipunong katawan.”
भीष्म उवाच
The line underscores the kṣatriya ideal of disciplined readiness: one must be properly equipped and composed to meet impending duty, especially when war becomes unavoidable.
Bhīṣma speaks in the Udyoga Parva’s war-preparation context, describing himself as fully armed and wearing a pale/bright cuirass—signaling that the conflict is moving from counsel and negotiation toward battle.
