Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 132 — Vidura’s Counsel on Udyama, Yaśas, and Kṣātra-Dharma

दिष्टभावं गतस्यापि विषये मोदते प्रजा । यदि बढ़े हुए तेज और उत्साहवाला, शूरवीर एवं सिंहके समान पराक्रमी राजा युद्धमें दैववश वीर-गतिको प्राप्त हो जाय तो भी उसके राज्यमें प्रजा सुखी ही रहती है

diṣṭabhāvaṃ gatasya api viṣaye modate prajā |

Wika ni Vāyu: Kahit ang isang hari ay nakarating na sa wakas na itinakda ng kapalaran, nagagalak pa rin ang mga tao sa kanyang nasasakupan. Sapagkat kung ang isang pinunong hitik sa ningning at sigasig—bayani at kasingtapang ng leon—ay bumagsak sa digmaan dahil sa hatak ng tadhana at makamtan ang kamatayang nararapat sa mandirigma, nananatiling panatag ang kanyang mga nasasakupan, dahil sa lakas ng kanyang matuwid na pamamahala at sa dangal ng kanyang pagpanaw.
