विषेण सर्पबन्धैशक्ष॒ यतिता: पाण्डवास्त्वया । सर्वोपायैर्विनाशाय न समृद्ध च तत्‌ तव

vaiśampāyana uvāca | viṣeṇa sarpabandhaiś ca yatitāḥ pāṇḍavās tvayā | sarvopāyair vināśāya na samṛddhaṃ ca tat tava ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Sinikap mong lipulin ang mga Pāṇḍava sa lahat ng paraang maaari—sa lason, sa pakana na magpapakagat sa kanila sa mga ahas, at sa paggapós sa kanilang mga kamay at paa at paghagis sa tubig. Ngunit kahit ang pagsisikap mong iyon ay hindi nagtagumpay. Ipinapakita ng talatang ito ang bigat ng kasalanan ng pagtataksil at ang kawalang-saysay ng mga balak na hinahango sa adharma laban sa mga matuwid.
