त एतदीदृशं कुर्युर्यथा त्वं तात मन्यसे । “तात! जिसे तुम ठीक समझते हो, ऐसा अधम कार्य तो वे लोग करते हैं, जो नीच कुलमें उत्पन्न हुए हैं तथा जो दुष्टचित्त, क्रूर एवं निर्लज्ज हैं
te etadīdṛśaṃ kuryur yathā tvaṃ tāta manyase |
Wika ni Vaiśaṃpāyana: “Anak ko, kikilos sila ayon sa paraang inaakala mong nararapat.” Ipinahihiwatig ng taludtod na ang mungkahing hakbang ay tinitimbang batay sa paghatol at kaangkupan, at tahimik na inaanyayahan ang pagninilay: alin ang asal na marangal at alin ang asal na hamak.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights moral responsibility in decision-making: actions are to be evaluated by what one judges as proper, implicitly contrasting worthy conduct with base conduct.
Vaiśaṃpāyana, as narrator, reports that certain people would act according to what the addressed person (“tāta”) considers appropriate, framing the situation as counsel and deliberation over a course of action.
