Narada said: “Suvarṇacūḍa, Nāgāśī, Dāruṇa, Caṇḍatuṇḍaka, Anila, Anala, Viśālākṣa, and Kuṇḍalī—these are among the prominent sons of Garuḍa.” By listing their names, the narrative underscores the vast, ordered lineage of mighty beings allied with dharma, suggesting that strength and fame are to be understood within a larger cosmic genealogy rather than as isolated power.
नारद उवाच
The verse functions as a genealogical catalogue: greatness (bala, yaśas) is situated within lineage and cosmic order. It implies that power is not merely personal but part of a structured dharmic universe where beings have roles, names, and inherited identities.
Nārada is enumerating notable names among Garuḍa’s descendants. The passage is part of a broader listing that highlights the extent and prominence of Garuḍa’s line, describing them as renowned and mighty.
