यो भूतानि धनाक्रान्त्या वधात्‌ क्लेशाच्च रक्षति । दस्युभ्य: प्राणदानात्‌ स धनद: सुखदो विराट्‌

yo bhūtāni dhanākrāntyā vadhāt kleśāc ca rakṣati | dasyubhyaḥ prāṇadānāt sa dhanadaḥ sukhado virāṭ |

Wika ni Bhishma: Ang haring nag-iingat sa mga nilalang laban sa pagkalugmok dahil sa pagkawala ng yaman, laban sa pagpaslang, at laban sa pagdurusa—na sa paghadlang sa mga tulisan ay wari’y nagkakaloob ng buhay—ang gayong pinuno ay itinuturing ng bayan bilang makapangyarihang panginoon, tagapagkaloob ng kayamanan at tagapagkaloob ng ligaya.
