Śara-śayyā-sthita-bhīṣma-saṃvāda-prastāvaḥ
The Prelude to Questioning Bhīṣma on the Bed of Arrows
यावद्धि प्रथते लोके पुरुषस्य यशो भुवि । तावत् तस्याक्षयं स्थान भवतीति विनिश्चिता,जगत्में जबतक भूतलपर मनुष्यके यशका विस्तार होता रहता है, तबतक उसकी परलोकमें अचल स्थिति बनी रहती है, यह निश्चय है
yāvaddhi prathate loke puruṣasya yaśo bhuvi | tāvat tasya akṣayaṁ sthānaṁ bhavatīti viniścitā ||
Wika ni Vāyu: Hangga’t ang katanyagan ng isang tao ay patuloy na lumalaganap sa mundong ito sa ibabaw ng lupa, gayon din katagal mananatiling di-nasisira ang kanyang kalagayan sa kabilang-buhay—ito’y tiyak na pasya.
