Rāma–Jāmadagnya-janma-kāraṇa and Kṣatra-kṣaya
Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages

The verse highlights how the continuity of a righteous lineage and the preservation of life can occur through unexpected means; protection and nurture are not limited to human society, suggesting a broader moral order in which survival and duty may be upheld even in the wilderness.
Vāsudeva informs a brāhmaṇa that a surviving heir connected to the Puru line exists: a child associated with Vidūratha has been raised by bears on Ṛkṣavat mountain, indicating that the line has not been extinguished.
