त्वां प्रपन्नाय भक्ताय गतिमिष्टां जिगीषवे । यच्छेय: पुण्डरीकाक्ष तद्‌ ध्यायस्व सुरोत्तम,देवताओंमें श्रेष्ठ कमलनयन भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्ण! मैं आपका शरणागत भक्त हूँ और अभीष्ट गतिको प्राप्त करना चाहता हूँ; जिसमें मेरा कल्याण हो, वह आप ही सोचिये

tvāṁ prapannāya bhaktāya gatim iṣṭāṁ jigīṣave | yaccheyaḥ puṇḍarīkākṣa tad dhyāyasva surottama ||

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “O Kṛṣṇa na may matang na gaya ng lotus, pinakamainam sa mga diyos! Ako’y sumilong sa iyo bilang tapat na lingkod, at hinahangad ko ang ninanais na huling landas at pag-abot. Ikaw na mismo ang mag-isip at magpasya kung ano ang tunay na magiging pinakamataas kong kabutihan.”
