Kṛṣṇa’s Dhyāna and the Prompt to Question Bhīṣma (कृष्णध्यानं भीष्मप्रश्नप्रेरणा च)
एकीकृत्येन्द्रियग्रामं मन: संयम्य मेधया । शरणं मामुपागच्छत् ततो मे तद्गतं मनः
ekīkṛtyendriyagrāmaṃ manaḥ saṃyamya medhayā | śaraṇaṃ māmupāgacchat tato me tadgataṃ manaḥ ||
Wika ni Vāsudeva: “Tipunin sa pagkakaisa ang buong hukbo ng mga pandama, at sa matalinong pag-unawa ay supilin ang isip; magkanlong kayo sa Akin. Kung magkagayon, ang Aking sariling diwa ay titimo rin sa inyo—lubos na nakatuon sa inyo.”
वासुदेव उवाच
Unify and withdraw the senses, restrain the mind with discerning intelligence (medhā), and take refuge in Vāsudeva; such surrender and inner discipline draw the Lord’s attentive grace—His mind becomes ‘fixed’ upon the seeker.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on peace and right conduct, Vāsudeva speaks as a spiritual guide, prescribing inner restraint and śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) as the means by which the devotee becomes the object of divine attention and protection.
