The verse highlights yathāyuktam—acting in a manner fitting to one’s role. Yudhiṣṭhira’s orderly movement through the royal road toward the palace reflects dharmic kingship: restraint, decorum, and respect for public and royal institutions even after upheaval.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira, proceeding appropriately along the splendidly decorated royal thoroughfare, arrives near the royal palace—marking a transition into the setting where counsel and governance-related events will unfold.
