Āścarya-kathana: Brāhmaṇa–Nāga Dialogue on Sūrya (Vivasvat) and the ‘Second Sun’ Phenomenon
The verse emphasizes faithful transmission of sacred-historical teaching: the narrator grounds his account in the authority of his guru (Vyāsa) and promises to reproduce Nārada’s version accurately, highlighting integrity, lineage, and reliability in dharma instruction.
Vaiśampāyana addresses the king and signals a shift to a prior authoritative telling: although Vyāsa and Vaiśampāyana have narrated the topic, he now invites the listener to hear the same matter as Nārada recounted it in that earlier setting.
