Nāga-āyatana-darśana-pratīkṣā — The Brāhmaṇa’s Request and Waiting on the Gomatī
बदरीमाश्रमं प्राप्पय समागम्य च तावृषी । कियन्तं कालमवसत् प्रश्नान् कान् पृष्टवांश्व॒ ह
Janamejaya uvāca: Badarīm āśramaṁ prāpya samāgamya ca tāv ṛṣī | kiyantaṁ kālam avasat praśnān kān pṛṣṭavān ha ||
Wika ni Janamejaya: “Pagbalik ng rishi na si Nārada, anak ni Brahmā, mula sa Śvetadvīpa at pagdating niya sa ermitanyong Badarī, nang makatagpo niya ang dalawang rishi roon, gaano siya katagal nanatili sa pook na iyon? At anu-ano ang mga tanong na itinanong niya sa kanila?”
जनमेजय उवाच
The verse foregrounds dhārmic learning through disciplined inquiry: sacred knowledge is approached by seeking out realized teachers, staying with them, and asking precise questions—emphasizing humility, patience, and the proper method of receiving instruction.
Janamejaya asks the narrator to continue the account of Nārada: after returning from Śvetadvīpa and arriving at Badarikāśrama, Nārada meets two resident sages. Janamejaya wants to know the length of Nārada’s stay there and the specific questions he asked them.
