अस्मानन्तकरान् घोरान् पाण्डवान् वृष्णिसंहतान् । आक्रोशन्त्य: कृशा दीना: प्रपतिष्यन्ति भूतले,हम घोर विनाशकारी पाण्डवों और वृष्णिवंशियोंको कोसती हुई वे दीन-दुर्बल अबलाएँ पृथ्वीपर पछाड़ खा-खाकर गिरेंगी
asmān antakarān ghorān pāṇḍavān vṛṣṇisaṃhatān | ākrośantyaḥ kṛśā dīnāḥ prapatiṣyanti bhūtale ||
Sinabi ni Yudhiṣṭhira: “Habang isinusumpa nila kami—ang mga Pāṇḍava na kakila-kilabot at tagapagdala ng kamatayan—kasama ang mga Vṛṣṇi, ang mga babaeng iyon, payat at abang-aba, ay paulit-ulit na babagsak sa lupa.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical weight of mass violence: even a righteous victory can generate immense suffering, social collapse, and moral blame. It urges sensitivity to the grief of innocents and reflection on responsibility and the long shadow of destructive action.
Yudhiṣṭhira foresees (or recalls) the lament of bereaved women who, devastated by the slaughter, curse the Pāṇḍavas and the Vṛṣṇis as agents of ruin, and in their weakness repeatedly fall to the ground in grief.
