Yajña-bhāga-vyavasthā and the Pravṛtti–Nivṛtti Framework (यज्ञभागव्यवस्था तथा प्रवृत्तिनिवृत्तिधर्मविवेचनम्)
इति तेषां वच: श्र॒त्वा ब्रह्मर्षिस्तानुवाच ह | उच्यतामिति तद् वत्सा यद् वः कार्य प्रियं मया
iti teṣāṁ vacaḥ śrutvā brahmarṣis tān uvāca ha | ucyatām iti tad vatsā yad vaḥ kāryaṁ priyaṁ mayā ||
Nang marinig ang kanilang mga salita, sumagot ang dakilang Brahmarshi na si Vyasa: “Mga anak ko, sabihin ninyo—ano ang ninanais ninyo? Anong minamahal na gawain ang dapat kong gawin para sa inyo?”
भीष्म उवाच

After hearing the disciples’ statement/request, the Brahmarṣi (Vyāsa) addresses them affectionately and asks them to state what they want him to do for their benefit.
