Mahāvasu’s Fall by Speech-Error and Release through Devotion (अज-विवादः वसोः शापः विमोचनं च)
बभौ तदा भावितात्मा विधूम इव पावक: । कुरुनन्दन! अपने पिताके समान ही परम उत्तम रूप और कान्ति धारण किये पवित्रात्मा शुकदेव धूमरहित अग्निके समान देदीप्यमान हो रहे थे
babhau tadā bhāvitātmā vidhūma iva pāvakaḥ | kurunandana! apne pitāke samāna hī param-uttama rūpa aur kānti dhāraṇ kiye pavitrātmā śukadeva dhūmarahita agni ke samāna dīdyamāna ho rahe the |
Sinabi ni Bhishma: “Noon, ang pantas na may pagpipigil-sa-sarili ay nagningning na parang apoy na walang usok. O ligaya ng mga Kuru! Si Śukadeva, dalisay ang kaluluwa, taglay ang napakahusay na anyo at ningning na tulad ng sa kanyang ama, ay nagliliyab sa kislap—gaya ng apoy na walang usok.”
भीष्म उवाच
Inner cultivation and purity make a person’s presence luminous: like fire without smoke, a disciplined and purified self shines without the obscurations of passion, ego, or impurity.
Bhīṣma describes Śukadeva’s appearance: he is portrayed as exceptionally radiant and pure, resembling a smokeless flame, and possessing splendor comparable to that of his father (implicitly Vyāsa).
