Śvetadvīpa-varṇana and Śāstra-pravartana (Śānti Parva 322)
अचोटद्यमानानि यथा पुष्पाणि च फलानि च । स्वं काल॑ नातिवर्तन्ते तथा कर्म पुरा कृतम्
acoṭadyamānāni yathā puṣpāṇi ca phalāni ca | svaṃ kālaṃ nātivartante tathā karma purā kṛtam ||
Wika ni Bhishma: “Kung paanong ang mga bulaklak at bunga ay lumilitaw sa puno sa sarili nilang panahon nang hindi pinipilit o tinutulak, gayon din ang mga gawa noong nakaraan ay hindi lumalampas sa itinakdang oras ng pagbubunga. Dumarating ang bunga ng karma nang di maiiwasan kapag sumapit ang nararapat na sandali.”
