Śānti-parva Adhyāya 30: Nārada–Parvata Samaya-bhaṅga, Śāpa, and the Marriage of Sukumārī
Concealing the rise of a harmful or ethically risky desire—especially from a trusted guide—constitutes a lapse in truthfulness and accountability; the narrative presents consequences (a śāpa) as a mechanism that restores moral order and discourages secrecy in matters requiring restraint and counsel.
Śrī Kṛṣṇa addresses someone who earlier experienced desire toward a young maiden but did not inform him; citing that concealment as the reason, Kṛṣṇa declares that he will impose a curse.
