Welfare, Steadfastness, and Norms of Giving
न चैशि: पुण्यकर्माणो युज्यन्ते चाभिसंधिजै: । एवंविधैश्व बहुभिरपरै: प्राकृतेरपि,पुण्यकर्म करनेवाले मनुष्य इस तरहके उपायोंसे प्राण नहीं देते तथा ऐसे-ऐसे दूसरे अधम उपायोंसे भी उनकी मृत्यु नहीं होती
na caiśiḥ puṇyakarmāṇo yujyante cābhisaṃdhijaiḥ | evaṃvidhaiś ca bahubhir aparaiḥ prākṛter api ||
Wika ni Parāśara: Ang mga taong nakatuon sa mga gawaing may kabutihan ay hindi nagtatapos sa pamamagitan ng mga pakana at tusong balak; ni hindi sila napapahamak sa marami pang ibang gayong hamak na paraan na nagmumula sa karaniwang likas na ugali ng mundong ito. Ipinahihiwatig ng taludtod na ang buhay na nakaugat sa birtud ay hindi madaling gapiin ng mumunting sabwatan at maruruming estratehiya.
