Adhyāya 287 — Janaka’s Inquiry on Śreyas, Abhayadāna, and Asaṅga

दैवतेभ्य: पितृभ्यश्न संविभागो$तिथिष्वपि । असंत्यागश्च भृत्यानां श्रेय एतदसंशयम्‌

daivatebhyaḥ pitṛbhyaś ca saṁvibhāgo ’tithiṣv api | asaṁtyāgaś ca bhṛtyānāṁ śreya etad asaṁśayam ||

Itinuro ni Nārada na: “Ang tunay na kapakanan, walang pag-aalinlangan, ay nasa tapat na pagbibigay ng nararapat na bahagi sa mga diyos at sa mga ninuno (pitṛ), sa wastong pagtanggap at pag-asikaso sa mga panauhin, at sa hindi kailanman pagtalikod sa mga umaasa na dapat alagaan. Ang matatag na pagtupad sa mga tungkuling ito ang tiyak na landas tungo sa pagpapala at kabutihang-asal.”
