इमा हि देवता: सर्वा ऋषयश्न परंतप । तव क्रोधान्महादेव न शान्तिमुपलेभिरे,शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाले महादेव! ये सब देवता और ऋषि आपके क्रोधसे संतप्त होकर कहीं शान्ति नहीं पा रहे हैं
imā hi devatāḥ sarvā ṛṣayaś ca parantapa | tava krodhān mahādeva na śāntim upalebhire ||
Wika ni Bhishma: “O manlulupig sa mga kaaway—O Mahādeva—ang lahat ng mga diyos at ang mga rishi na ito, na tinupok ng iyong poot, ay hindi nakatagpo ng kapayapaan. Ang iyong galit ay naging nagliliyab na init na lumalamon sa daigdig, kaya’t maging ang pinakadakila ay hindi matahimik hangga’t hindi ito napapawi.”
