Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions
रथस्थस्य हि शक्रस्य युद्धकाले महात्मन: । ऋषिभ: स्तूयमानस्य रूपमासीत् सुदुर्दूशम्,युद्धूके समय रथपर बैठकर ऋषियोंके द्वारा अपनी स्तुति सुनते हुए महामना इन्द्रका रूप ऐसा तेजस्वी प्रतीत होता था कि उसकी ओर देखना भी अत्यन्त कठिन जान पड़ता था
rathasthasya hi śakrasya yuddhakāle mahātmanaḥ | ṛṣibhiḥ stūyamānasya rūpam āsīt sudurdṛśam ||
Wika ni Bhishma: Sa oras ng labanan, ang dakilang-loob na si Indra, nakaupo sa kanyang karwahe at tumatanggap ng mga himno ng mga rishi, ay nagpakita ng anyong napakasilaw at nakapanghihilakbot sa pagkamaringal, anupa’t napakahirap kahit tumingin man lamang sa kanyang dako.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the overwhelming nature of divine splendor in a dharmic context: when a righteous cosmic power is affirmed by the praise of seers, its presence becomes morally and spiritually awe-inducing—so intense that ordinary perception cannot easily endure it.
Bhishma describes Indra during battle: seated on his chariot, being hymned by rishis, Indra appears so brilliantly radiant that looking at him is extremely difficult.
