Instruction on the Cessation of Craving
एवं ध्यात्वानुपश्यन्त: संत्यजेयु: शुभाशुभम् | परां गतिमभीप्सन्तो यतय: संयमे रता:,परम गति प्राप्त करनेकी इच्छावाले संयमशील यति इस प्रकार सोच-विचारकर शुभ और अशुभ दोनोंका परित्याग कर देते हैं
evaṁ dhyātvānupaśyantaḥ saṁtyajeyuḥ śubhāśubham | parāṁ gatim abhīpsanto yatayaḥ saṁyame ratāḥ ||
Wika ni Kapila: Sa pagninilay nang ganito at sa malinaw na pagtanaw, ang mga yati na may pagpipigil-sa-sarili—na nagnanais marating ang pinakamataas na hantungan—ay itinatakwil kapwa ang mabuti at ang masama.
कपिल उवाच
One who seeks the supreme goal should cultivate clear discernment and renounce attachment to both ‘good’ and ‘bad’ outcomes—merit and demerit—by resting in self-control and aiming at liberation beyond dualities.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on liberation, Kapila addresses seekers (yatayaḥ), describing the inner discipline by which they reflect, perceive rightly, and abandon the binding opposites of auspicious and inauspicious karma while aspiring to the highest state.
