Instruction on the Cessation of Craving
That śāstra-guided conduct, when applied appropriately to one’s chosen pursuit, reliably yields its proper result; disciplined observance (anuṣṭhāna) produces wholesome, affliction-free well-being.
In the didactic discourse of Śānti Parva, the sage Kapila instructs on the efficacy of prescribed disciplines: practices taught by śāstra succeed when performed in their proper context, leading to enduring welfare.
